GOSSIP AND SLANDER WILL KILL A COMMUNITY
James 4:11-12 ESV
[11] Do not speak evil(gossip,slander)against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against(harsh, critical spirit that always finds faults with others)a brother or judges(condemning not evaluating)his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law(love God,love people). But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. [12] There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor(log vs. speck)?
GOD HATES DISUNITY IN HIS FAMILY
Proverbs 6:16 ESV
[16] There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him:
WHEN YOU LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS...LIFT UP YOURSELF...AND PICK ON PEOPLE...
Proverbs 6:17 ESV
[17] haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
YOU DEVELOP A HANGRY HEART AND A BUSY BODY...
Proverbs 6:18 ESV
[18] a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,
THAT CREATES DISHONESTY AND DISUNITY...THAT DISPLEASES GOD.
Proverbs 6:19 ESV
[19] a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
WHEN YOU LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS...LIFT UP YOURSELF...AND PICK ON PEOPLE...
YOU DEVELOP A HANGRY HEART AND A BUSY BODY...
THAT CREATES DISHONESTY AND DISUNITY...THAT DISPLEASES GOD...AND THIS CAN KILL A ONCE-LOVING COMMUNITY.
FIND YOUR VALUE IN SIMPLY BEING A MEMBER OF GOD’S FAMILY AND LOVE OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT THEM TO LOVE YOU.
