John 17
Created to Shine... Whose Light are You Shining?

Created to Shine… Whose Light are You Shining?

You were created by God.

  • Genesis 1:27 “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
  • Genesis 9:6 “If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image.”
  • Psalm 139:13-16 “13You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

Talking about Israel in Isaiah 43, but still applicable to understand God’s intentions
(Isaiah 43:5-7) 5 “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west. 6 I will say to the north and south, ‘Bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the distant corners of the earth. 7 Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.’”

It’s so easy for me to get trapped into thinking that I was created for my own glory.
